Presently, people around the world are interested in Chinese language; lots of foreigners would like to study Chinese. The opportunity to study Chinese is what they wish for. Studying Chinese is also popular in Thailand. Nowadays, Thai students start studying Chinese in secondary education schools and continue in college and university. It’s because of the importance of the Chinese economy. Chinese people start to travel to Thailand; Thailand tourism industry is growing due to the increasing number of Chinese tourists. Therefore, Chinese language becomes more interesting for people who would like to study. Because of the number of people who would like to study Chinese are increasing Confucius Institute is imparting lots of Chinese volunteers around the world. Confucius Institute also operates in Thailand. Chinese volunteers who came to Thailand faced various problems. For example, life styles, communication, traditions, cultures, teaching styles, living conditions in daily life, working styles of Thai’s organizations, the living and teaching styles differ between Thailand and China. In the same way, the ideas of Thai people to the working styles of Chinese volunteers differ from their own expectations.This thesis includes a survey and study about the problems which are described above. This thesis is divided into six sections.The first section is the explanation of the topic’s origin, Chinese volunteer’s current status, the aim, and the guidance of the research.The second section is about the studying guide line of this thesis. It’s about intercultural communication. It have been divided into three types; the research of Chinese volunteers intercultural communication in Thailand, the research of Chinese volunteers intercultural communication in other countries, and the research of the differences of intercultural communications.The third section is talking about the questionnaires’results and involves the analysis’s results of the communication; also the interview’s summarization between Chinese volunteers and their leaders, Thai’s professors, students, and Thai people in Phuket Province.The forth section is the analysis of the leaders questionnaires between Thai professors, students, and Thai people in Phuket province including students’ parents and research Chinese volunteers’problems and analyze the causes of those.The fifth section is the suggestion of the thesis author, dividing in 3 sections; the suggestion to Chinese volunteers, the suggestion to Thai people, and the suggestion to the organizations which are organizing the program.The sixth section is the summary of the research, extra and reconditions introductions.
