A Study On The Onomatopoeia

"Shuowenjiezi"(hereinafter referred to as "shuowen") holds an important place in the history of linguistics in China which created the style of the Han nationality of linguistics.In the aspect of philology, created radical character searching method;In the aspect of Chinese traditional semantics, formed the system of traditional semantics;In the aspectofphonology, identification to read, to explore the etymology, established the echoism system, they are important materials for study of the history of Chinese and Chinesecharacters. The paper study on onomatopoetic words of "shuowenjiezi", which from the angles of category of its meaning, layout style, relation of its form, sound and meaning and evolution.This paper divided into six parts: introduction, profile of onomatopoetic words of "shuowen", layout style and method of explaining of onomatopoetic words of "shuowen", category of its meaning of onomatopoetic words of "shuowen", relation of form, sound and meaning about onomatopoetic words of "shuowen" and conclusion.the first part mainly introduces the research status of"shuowen" onomatopoetic words, research purpose and research significance and the material source and the research method in this paper.The second part gives a proper definition for "shuowen"onomatopoetic words and describes them.The third part study on the layout style and method of explaining of onomatopoetic words of "shuowen" and summarizes their characteristic.The fourth part category of its meaning of onomatopoetic words of "shuowen"which divided into five categories, are character, animal,artifacts, natural class and other classes.In this paper refer to the related books, on the basis of the system of the meaning of onomatopoeia words and contrast "modern Chinese dictionary(6th edition) to research if they are still alive.The fifth part, from the perspective of form and phonology to involve the character and relation of "shuowen"onomatopoetic words.The sixth is the conclusion of this paper.In addition, there is an appendix part in this paper includes the author’s collection of "shuowen" onomatopoetic words.The innovation of this paper is that the writer collected and sorted out of onomatopoetic words of “Shuowen” from the perspective ofword-class-diving and study on onomatopoetic words of “Shuowen” from semantic classification, layout style and the way of interpretation system. At the same time, to investigate onomatopoetic words is alive or not through the diachronic comparison of “Shuo wen”and“Modern Chinese dictionary(6th edition)”.At last, summarize the character of “Shuowen”onomatopoetic words from the aspect of form and meaningrelationsand Sound and meaning relations.
