Jianyu sentence is a type of phrase that a Chinese Learner should learn to understand and apply in everyday conversation. However, when it comes to teaching, Jianyu sentence is also become one of the difficulties for students to understand and apply in correct situation. As a Myanmar teacher teaching Chinese language to students, it is very important for teacher to find a way to help students to understand how to use the sentence correctly. Being a Myanmar student learning Chinese language, the thesis was based on previous studies and statements, resulting differences in the structure of sentences and statements, by comparing with Burmese language with consideration of the statements of errors made by Myanmar students. Therefore, this thesis cover to get better understanding, by comparing similarities between Chinese and Myanmar Jianyu sentence structure. The thesis also based on the survey from the students’errors when using Jianyu sentence. The thesis also covers the cause of errors, due to interference of the negative transfer of the mother tongue, the interference of the target language, the learning style of the students, inadequate teaching methods and insufficient of proper reference. Overall, this thesis will help students to provide better understanding and to improve better foreign language teaching.The thesis was divided into five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction, which explained in general about significance of the topic, summary of research results and methods. The second chapter explained about comparison of sentence structures, statements, similarities and differences between Chinese and Myanmar sentences. The third chapter stated the statistics and analysis of errors made by students. The fourth chapter explained about finding out the causes of errors made by students. The fifth chapter was about giving advice and suggestion on teaching methods, and the results of the error analysis as well as giving suggestion about writing a grammar text book for students in Myanmar.
