Career beliefs are the thoughts of career development that the human acquired in the process of socialization. This paper designed two studies to investigate and intervene in the college students’career beliefs. The first study adopted Ceng Weixi’s College Students’career beliefs scale to investigate 507 students from Yangzhou University. The study has found:(1) the detection rates of the college students’irrational career beliefs are as follows:"successful blindly" is 13.01%; "ignore the planning" is 8.88%; "path-set" is 21.10%; "role-set" is 34.52%; "mindless optimism" is 19.33%; "perfect matching" is 61.93%; "job first" is 20.71%; "dependent" is 10.26%; "decision-making closure" is 53.25%:"workplace mirage" is 14.60%; "test-dependent" is 24.85%; "absolutely sure" is 56.61% and "gender stereotypes" is 7.10%. (2) The college students of different genders have significant differences in "mindless optimism", "dependent", "gender stereotypes", "workplace mirage" and "test-dependent":at "mindless optimism", the mean scores of male students are higher than those of female students; at "dependent", the mean scores of female students are higher than those of male students; at "gender stereotypes", the mean scores of male students are higher than those of female students; at "workplace mirage", the mean scores of female students are higher than those of male students; at "test-dependent", the mean scores of male students are higher than those of female students. (3) The college students of different majors (liberal arts and science) have significant differences in "mindless optimism", "dependent", "gender stereotypes", "workplace mirage" and "test-dependent":at "mindless optimism", the mean scores of science students are higher than those of liberal arts students; at "dependent", the mean scores of liberal arts students are higher than those of science students; at "gender stereotypes", the mean scores of science students are higher than those of liberal arts students; at "workplace mirage", the mean scores of liberal arts students are higher than those of science students; at "test-dependent", the mean scores of science students are higher than those of liberal arts students. (4) The college students of different grades (Low Grades:Grade One and Grade Two; High Grades:Grade Three and Grade Four) have significant differences in "ignore the planning", "dependent" and "test-dependent":at "ignore the planning", the mean scores of students in Low Grades are higher than those of students in High Grades; at "dependent", the mean scores of students in Low Grades are higher than those of students in High Grades; at "test-dependent", the mean scores of students in Low Grades are higher than those of students in High Grades. The second study selected 28 students who existing "perfect matching" as the subjects. The 28 subjects were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group. Each group has 14 members. The study applied the Chaos Theory of Careers (CTC) to experimental group and there are five intervention strategies:Parable, Influence Circle, Role Model, Butterfly and Film. The five strategies respectively reflect the notions of complexity, variability, contingency and nonlinear in the CTC. "Perfect matching" reflects that the students try to pursue a perfect and rigorous career decision. The study has found:(1) before the intervention, there is no significant difference between the levels of "perfect matching" of the experimental group and the control group. (2) After the intervention, the level of "perfect matching" experimental group has a significant decline. (3) There is a significant difference between the level of "perfect matching" of the experimental group after the intervention and the level of the control group before the intervention. (4) The levels of "perfect matching" in the delay test between experimental group and the control group are proved to be significant difference, which means that the effect of the CTC can be maintained in a week;...
