Whether in modern Chinese ontology research or in teaching Chinese as a foreign language research, the discrimination of synonyms is an important issue.In recent years, the educational research in this issue has made a lot of achievements. However, in the specific word discrimination, there are a lot of synonyms which often confuse foreign students and are therefor needed to be studied further. According to the author’s teaching practice and the inter-language corpus, we found that the foreign students have confused by the Chinese words "er" and "erqie" frequently.But this phenomenon has not caused enough attention from academia, there is little educational research which specializes in the difference between these two words, especially the research on the basis of corpus.In view of this situation, we take the Chinese words "er" and "erqie" as researching targets. First, we discuss the similarities and differences between these two words in the aspects of semantic and syntax on the basis of National Language Committee Balanced Corpus of Modern Chinese.Second, through the investigation of Beijing Language and Culture University HSK Dynamic Composition Corpus, we analyze the foreign students’errors when they use these two words. Finally, we make some helpful suggestions about teaching materials, reference books and teaching strategies, in hope to solve the existent problems of teaching.This article is divided into six chapters.Chapter 1 is the introduction, it is divided into two parts.Part 1 introduces the significance and the purpose of this research.Part 2 analyzes the current situation of this research.Chapter 2 is the research design of this article, it is divided into four parts.The research object, research methods, research innovation points and the description of corpus origin are presented in these four parts.Chapter 3 is the comparative analysis of "er"and"erqie",it is divided into two parts.In this chapter, we discuss the similarities and differences between this two words in the aspects of semantics syntax on the basis of National Language Committee Balanced Corpus of Modern Chinese respectively.Chapter 4 is the analysis of the foreign students’ errors, it is divided into two parts. First,we collect a large number of errors from foreign students when they used "er" and "erqie".Second, we classify and analyze these errors.Chapter 5 is the suggestions about teaching materials, reference books and teaching strategies, it is divided into three parts.Through the investigation of foreign students’ teaching materials and reference books, we found there are still a lot of disadvantages, so we make some suggestions about teaching materials, reference books and teaching strategies.Chapter 6 is the conclusion, it summarizes the major problems solved in this article.
