Chinese phonetic teaching, Chinese grammar teaching and Chinese vocabulary teaching are three important parts in teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.On the basis of Teaching Chinese as a foreign language is phonetic teaching.Phonetic is an appearance of language, it has meaning as well. PINYIN is main point in first period for the beginner. This period will last two to four weeks and we call it a period for learning phonetics.While Thai student in the period of learning Chinese phonetics as a beginner, we do a research that is contrast Chinese and Thai language through Initial, Vowel and Tone. According to the comparison and errors that students made, we will find the best way to solve these problems. The purpose is to make Thai student a better pronunciation.The paper has two parts. First part clarified the background, the purpose and theories of this paper. The main part has been divided into five chapters. First chapter describe the details of teaching background, the writer investigate something about the number of students, class hours, etc. Second to Forth chapter do comparison between Chinese and Thai phonetic system. The writer find out that it is easy for students to learn similar phonetic items between Chinese and Thai, and it is hard for them to learn the different, also find the way to correct their phonetic errors. The last chapter took the first two phonetic classes as an example, made the theory more vivid.
