With the continuous implementation of reform and opening up policy, the growing migrant children, has become a huge population group which can not be ignored. The identity of migrant children has become increasingly prominent that a series of psychological and behavioral problems derive from this; it not only effects the development of their physical and mental health, but also threat to social harmony and stability in long-term. Our existing studies on identity of migrant children started late, measurement tools were mainly draw lesson from foreign scales; our studies are lack of localization measurement tools which in line with statistical indicators. What’s more, current studies on migrant children’s identity are more restricted in institutional level and lack of the thorough and meticulous excavation. Studies on intervention of migrant children’s identity are almost no. Therefore, the compile measurement tool, study the status quo and explore intervention of the migrant children’s identity are feasible and very necessary.The study consists of three parts: firstly, development of Migrant Children Identity Questionnaire; Secondly, 1080 migrant children were selected as research samples in Dali and Kunming seven private schools for children of migrant workers, then analyzed the overall status and development characteristics of migrant children identity; thirdly, selected 20 migrant children as research subjects and carried out intervention of group counseling for migrant children identities. The conclusions are as follows:1. There are 19 items in Migrant Children Identity Questionnaire which have three factors of identity recognition, emotional attribution and behavioral tendency;2. The overall identity of migrant children is in a medium level;grade, the time of enter city, education level of father, family economic status, living environment, housing, school success, surrounding interpersonal relationship and other demographic variable have significant effect on one or more dimensions of Migrant Children Identity;3. Through cluster analysis, the level of migrant children identity is divided into four types:edged type(21.4%), confused type(28.6%), enter type(31.0%) and integrated type(19.0%);4. Self-esteem and social support are significantly positive related to the Migrant Children Identity. And self-esteem and social support for migrant children’s identity have significant positive predictive effect;5. Group Guidance can effectively improve the identity status of migrant children.
