Chinese story which cast 5,000ycars of history and civilization is the birth of national culture and the thought of gradually accumulated treasures. With the remarkable universal value,historical value and contemporary value, Chinese traditional culture symbols are the inexhaustible driving force and material basis of the stable development of China in the world. But in the cultural globalization and foreign cultural invasion of the moment, telling and spreading Chinese story is unprecedented challenges. And this forces us to starve for a new way to spread out Chinese stories.Domestic scholars of our country have already realized the necessity of inheriting Chinese story, but their study mostly focus on the theoretical analysis of the revivification of Chinese story, And have never clearly propose a way that is conducive to the spread out of Chinese story. Animation is the common term of animation and comic, it is a new medium symbol and also a cultural carrier. The postmodernism of animation determined that it is the most typical of modern and art forms. Due to its own mass, entertainment and dissemination of quickness, making it most appropriate to spread culture and stress story.The research which is based on the existing theory and practice, chooses the expression of modern animation of Chinese story—in 《Mu Lan》 and 《Monkey King Hero is Back》 as object,with the help of relational theories comprehensively use documents, case study, comparative analysis, aims to explore modern animation expression of Chinese story.Specifically, the essay divides into seven chapters including introduction, five main chapters and conclusion. Introduction:mainly discusses the background and motivation of study, the problem of research and content, research ideas and methods as well as the significance of this study.The first chapter mainly discusses summary of the Chinese story cartoon expression, which is based on the surveys of the concept of Chinese story and features of animation expression,the history and current situation of Chinese story cartoon expression.The second chapter analyze the theme selection and adaptation according to the research of the existing literature and relevant theories. Mainly to expound the type of the story subject-matter, the standards of selection and adaptation, and focus on comparative analysis of《Mu Lan》 and 《Monkey King Hero is Back》, and analyze and discuss on the different choice of subject matter and script writing adapted.The third chapter discuss the role and scene setting. Visual Elements analysis of animation creation, and based on this, comparative analysis of the roles and scenes setting of《Mu Lan》 and 《Monkey King Hero is Back》The fourth chapter discuss the sound and scene atmosphere. Analysis interpretation of animation creation auditory elements and its role, focusing on comparative analysis of 《Mu Lan》 and 《Monkey King Hero is Back)) animation film about the creation and use of their auditory elements shine.The fifth chapter mainly research the action setting and narrative style. Discuss the situation of the operation setting and narrative style, and focal point on comparative analysis of 《Mu Lan》 and 《Monkey King Hero is Back》 in different settings and actions on the creation of narrative style.Finally, I summarize the conclusions of this study and how to use animation to spread out Chinese story put forward four proposals practical level.
