A Study On The Modesty Of College Students' Modesty And Its Relationship With Interpersonal Relationship

Modesty has been the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation, is typical of the Chinese ancient times have "polite, low to your self" "pride hurts, modesty benefits, is the heaven" and so on. In modern times also has "modesty helps one to make progress conceit makes one lag behind" "a modest man’s most valuable" "the greater the score,the more modest and prudent.", etc. But since China’s reform and opening up, along with the economic globalization, countries under the booming economy and culture of modern society, modesty is still the Chinese typical psychological characteristics?Positive psychology is the psychology research in recent years a new direction,and humility is an important quality of positive psychology. In the 1980 s, as Taiwan a number of psychologists try to construct the concept of indigenous psychology,modesty and the importance of humanities and social science research project was promoted to department of education. According to the previous investigation and study, modest always plays an important role in our country. Affect people’s lives,learning, and all aspects of people skills, but empirical research about modesty and relationships- no one has done, so as a college student in China,So, I put forward the aim of this study: the research status of undergraduates humble students’ modest psychological and interpersonal relationship.This research adopts the questionnaire of college students modesty and the interpersonal comprehensive diagnostic scale of six universities in yunnan province,more than 580 college students in the investigation. Will be recycling questionnaire,using the logarithmic SPSSl7.0 statistical software was analyzed. Secondly, using the interview method to four college students conducted in-depth interviews,the conclusion is as follows:1 the condition of college students’ overall modest at average level(3 points), the dimensions of modest, humble status score is higher, shows that university students overall modesty in good condition; By college students with the modest scale of demographic variables analysis found that: in addition to whether whether the single parent family and served as the class cadre variable has no impact on the undergraduates modesty, the rest of the variables will be more or less psychological impact on college students’ modesty;2 generally, the condition of college students’ interpersonal relationship in an average level of contemporary college students’ interpersonal relationship overall ingood condition. Whether college students’ interpersonal relationship in addition to the single and there is no difference in professional variables, there were significant differences in other demographic variables;3, modesty and college students interpersonal correlation was not significant;Modest cognitive dimension and the overall and different dimensions related to significant relationships; Modest emotional dimension in addition to the overall interpersonal relationship is not related with the four dimensions of interpersonal relationships are related; Modest behavior dimensions except related to treat people and relationships and dimensions are not related in general;4 different dimension of college students’ interpersonal relationships of college students each humble psychological dimensions and overall has a positive prediction function;5 through interviews, found that modesty is a multi-level concept, simple surface contact it is difficult to determine whether a person humble. It is a lot of factors affecting interpersonal relationships can only say that college students of modest but there is no effect on its relationship with the absolute positive correlation.
