Globalization and regional integration are two trends of the global economy. Asone of three world’s important economic zones, East Asia also started economiccooperation. The idea of East Asia’ economic cooperation dates from the1960s, andit started in the1990s. The outbreak of the Asian financial crisis in1997opened theprelude of a geopolitically economic cooperation in East Asia. Compared to theeconomic integration in Europe and North America, the economic cooperation inEast Asia is comparatively late. But East Asia’s economic cooperation has madegreat advances, catching the world’s attention. In the process of economic cooperation, a series of cooperation mechanismshave been established in East Asia, including TPP(Trans-Pacific PartnershipAgreement), RCEP(Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership),APEC(Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation),"10+3" mechanism(ASEAN+China,South Korea and Japan), CJK (China, South Korea and Japan economic cooperation),East Asia Summit and ASEAN(Association of Southeast Asian Nations). Although aseries of cooperation mechanisms have been built, there is still not a single and stableeconomic cooperation mechanism to promote regional economic progress. To someextent, the cooperation mechanism trends to be diversified in the region. This trendhas its historical and realistic inevitability. The paper is divided into four parts: the first chapter reviews the status quo ofeconomic cooperation mechanisms in the East Asia. The second chapter analyses thereason why the economic cooperation mechanisms are diversified in this region. Thethird chapter elaborates the influence of diversified cooperation mechanism to Chinaand economic cooperation in the region. The fourth chapter elaborates the future ofEast Asia’s economic cooperation and China’s countermeasures to it.
