As an important part of historical materialism, Marx’s civil society theory is one ofthe impotrant issues which the current academia pays close attention generally onresearch the relation between the society and the country. Based on the previous theory ofcivil society and combined with the beneficial results of the classical political economy inBritish, Marx deeply dissected the production relations within capitalisim,and thenthoroughly discussed the theoretical system of civil society form the production practiceof the reality person perspective. Therefore, the study of Marx’s theory of civil societywill not only help to deepen the understanding of Marx’s historical materialism,but alsoit can provide a theoretical guidance for the construction of socialism harmonious societywith Chinese characteristics.The research on Marx’s civil society theory is divided into the following three parts:The first part, based on the concept of civil society, analyzes and sorts out thethought resources a’nd the formation and development of Marxs civil society theory.Hegel’s theory of civil society, the Scottish Enlightenment school’s theory of civil societyand the labor value theory of the British classical political economy, which provide thenecessary theoretical resources for thre foundation of Marx’s civil society. On this basis,discusses the formation and development of M’arxs civil society theory from thehistorical perspective.The second part, through the in-depth study of Marx’s classical text, sums up andexpounds the basic content of Marx’s civil society theory, mainly includes: Materialproduction practice is the foundation of civil society; Physical relationship among peopleis the essence of civil society; Civil society is the real origin and stage at whole history;Civil society decided the political country and ideological superstructures; Communismis the realistic path oftrancecending civil society.The third part discusses the theoretical significance arid realistic enlightenment onMarx’s civil society theory. In theory,Marx’s civil society theory has laid a theoretical foundation ofr the creation of historical materialism and the generation of westernmarxist critical theory of civil society; In reality, Marx’s civil society theory providessome benefial enlightenments to how to build a harmonious society of "icFive in One"with Chinese characteristics.
