Historical Introspection And Reconstruction Of The Internal Logical Structure Of Sino - US Relations

This dissertation regards Sino-US relations as a system,analyzing and studying the history of Sino-US relations from the perspective of logic structure so as to find beneficial experience,existing problems and influencing factors.This paper is meant to tell that conflict and confrontation is not the inevitable logic of Sino-US relations and the theoretical prophesy of “ the Tragedy of Great Power Politics ” is not necessarily the inevitable destination of Sino-US relations. Sino-US relations can surely build an inner logic structure serving the fundamental interests of two sides as well as world peace and development. Under the circumstances that Sino-US relations has becoming the most important bilateral tie to each other,plus the two sides have not reached to fundamental agreement on the recognition of the connotation of building new-type great county relations, this thesis hopes to afford some scientific principle support and thoughts of countermeasures.Combining with huge amount of documents and historical facts,this dissertation adopts the measure of history analysis to type and analyze the four stages of sino-US relations since the foundation of People’s Republic of China.The four stages,divided by logic structure, include the hostile and alienated structure under severe cold war thoughts, strategic mergence structure under relative respite in politics, the structure of reciprocal partners in propelling politics,economy and military comprehensively, the structure of contact and containment under the thought of defense and the structure of cooperation and competition in reacting to common threats. On the basis of objective and rational analysis of major factors influencing the inner logic structure of Sino-US relations,this paper derives the ideal inner logic structure of Sino-US relations by using the method of deductive reasoning and propose and justify the cardinal ways to construct such ideal logic structure.Researches show that though there is heterogeneity,existing problems like this or that even straight conflicts in war fields between China and the US,the two major countries in the world,there are,no matter in the past, on today or in the future, factors which help harmonious coexistence. The two sides also have the base of strategic cooperation, conflict and confrontation is by no means the inevitable logic of major country relations. China and the US can find a brand new way which will not repeat the historical fate of major country relations. People and leaders of China and the US should have such wisdom and courage to realize it totally. So long we abandon cold war thoughts,surpass zero-sum concept,we can, under benign competition,agree to disagree,supplement each other and be reciprocal partners perfectly.We can build distance arrangement which suits our native vital interests and that of the world. Such distance arrangement is based on objective and rational recognition and is symmetrily balanced and harmoniously united through interconnections and interactions in various fields,so it can named inner logic relations of harmonious coexistence. As to the concrete approach,we must give up cold war thoughts and pave the win-win way of benign competition and cooperation through enhancing economic cooperation, tamping the foundation of mutual reliance and joint development, carrying out mutual respect,lessening and avoiding conflict and strategic confrontation,deepening seeking harmony among differences, keeping regular mutual strategic interaction, polishing mutual credibility system to prevent serious strategic misunderstandings,enhancing fields of cooperation, increasing fruits of cooperation of two sides.In short,we should seek mutual understanding in culture, reducing confrontations in politics,promoting economic cooperation, strengthening diplomacy coordinations and avoiding military confrontation. If all of these could be reached,China and the US will coexist in harmony.
