Headway Of The Area Of Trade Facilitation Of Our Country And Strategy Analysis

With the rapid development of the economic globalization and regional economic integration, gradual removal of trade barriers and application of new technologies in international trade, it has become an important content of multilateral and regional cooperation to reduce or remove the impediments which hinder the elements'cross-border flow, to reduce the transaction cost, and to set up an efficient and effective trade facilitation system. While there is no unanimous definition of trade facilitation, it is generally agreed that trade facilitation will accelerate the growth of international trade. Therefore, it is quite necessary for us to reinforce the studies in this field. China has been making great progress in trade facilitation recent years, yet some problems still exist. Effective solutions of those problems will accelerate China's foreign trade, reduce business cost, and improve international competitiveness of both corporations and products. Those who hold initiatives and grasp the initial chances will gain the most benefit in the course of trade facilitation. So it is highly advisable that we take an active part in the course of trade facilitation to ensure our practical interest. Firstly, China's government should attach greater importance on trade facilitation and strengthen the promotion of trade facilitation to assure that relevant management departments fully realize the importance of trade facilitation in reducing the transaction cost and improve companies'competitiveness, and consequently continue to improve China's environment of implementing the open-door policy. Secondly, we should reinforce the academic studies on trade facilitation and actively participate in the course of multilateral and regional trade facilitation to posit ourselves in the favorable situation in the process of formulating and implementing policies. Thirdly, an effective harmonizing system should be set up in the relevant sectors of trade facilitation. Fourthly, we should increase the infrastructure input to continuously improve our technical levels of management and operation of trade facilitation. Lastly, we should provide more training to improve personnel operation level in trade facilitation field, and then to gradually form a professional group.
