Economic integration has become a major and irreversible tendency in the globalization context and the rapid development of the science-technology revolution. To avoid being marginalized, it is vital that one country should spare no effort to integrate into this development trend, Viet Nam is no exception. For the time being, carrying out international economic integration activities, taking full advantage of all development opportunities with a view to proceeding with the industrialization process and overcoming the lacking-behind threats are the urgent requirements for Vietnam. One of the main factors that promotes international economic integration is the advancement towards the liberalization of commercial, monetary-financial activities and international investment. The strong external economic development and the increasingly expanded commercial relations on regional and global scales of Vietnam in the past years can be attributed to the policy and mechanism renovation process as well as the establishment of transparent commercial-financial regulations conducted by the Vietnamese Government. China is now one of the most important commercial partners of Viet Nam. By 2004, this country became Viet Nam 's biggest commercial counterparty. For Viet Nam, China is the 3rd largest export market; and at the same time imported products of the former are mostly from the later. With the population of 1.3 billion, China is an enormous market to which the entrance is really a great attraction to many countries; Viet Nam also expects to increase its export to China, thus enhancing its economic strength. The thesis is divided into 4 parts. The first part focuses on the main research point which is the significance of export activities extension to China, which means serving the industrialization process in Vietnam and promoting economic development. The second part will emphasize the analysis and evaluation of current situation of Vietnamese export to China with a view to drawing an overall picture. China is a market of great potential, and is also considered as the World's factory. Viet Nam, in promoting export to China, will encounter untold difficulties and challenges. Currently, Vietnam mainly exports raw materials and high labor component products to China, but is still weak in high technology products exportation. Besides, export activities to China have not been clearly oriented, which results in low efficiency. In this regard, part 3 will pinpoint the advantages and disadvantages of Vietnamese export to China basing on the assessment made on Chinese market's potential. In part 4, necessary measures to overcome the above-mentioned weaknesses will be discussed. Firstly, specific export orientations will be recommended; then emphasis will be put on the fact that, in its exportation to China, Viet Nam should increase the amount of high technology products, adjust raw material proportion basing on the short-term and long-term interests, and continue to export traditional goods which have gained a firm position in Chinese market. Only by the so doing, could Viet Nam expand its exportation to China and effectively exploit this promising market, thus creating favorable conditions to the country's industrialization and modernization process.
