In the past several decades, practice and application of project management have developed greatly, and a lot of organizations made use of project management to achieve their aims. Project management provided valid tools for organizations, helped to improve planning, implementing and controlling ability, and provided reasonable methods of utilizing human and other resources at the same time. The systematic study and profession practice about project management started a little late in our country, nevertheless construction industry was a prior profession in which the project management was applied, with the symbol of Lubuge Hydropower Station, in Yunnan province. Gezhouba Group Corporation took the lead in heading for the market in the construction profession in 1984, and started researching and practicing the system of contract for engineering project management. This thesis takes Gezhouba Group Corporation as the research object; the practice of project management in extra large building construction enterprise is analyzed and researched in it. According to the characteristics of management systems in the parent and subsidiary company, three methods, which are direct management, authorizing each subsidiary and branch company management and subsidiary management by oneself, have been analyzed. The priority adoptions are authorizing management and management by oneself. Because of the limitation of present objective conditions, the direct management method will still exist in a period of times, so it should be done that normalizing establishing conditions and controlling the quantity. Based on the group corporation belongs to building construction profession, three kinds of basic organization types are analyzed, which are function type, project type and matrix type, and suppositional project type enterprise organize mode is put forward in this thesis.Through the project management system reform process in Gezhouba Group Corporation, many defects, which are brought out because of system's problems, are studied in the thesis. According to the demand of establishing modern business enterprise system, three corpuses and four aspects are clearly brought out: legal person of enterprise,project department and project manager, exercise layer statutes of oneself , responsibility of oneself, right and advantage of oneself, the relationships among them. Thus orderly management system is established, and competition, supervise, control, encourage mechanism are formed, and then project management is introduced into the correct path . Secondly, in the view of both the theory and practice of project management in the group corporation, the key of project management is choosing and engaging an eligible project manager. In the thesis, how to pop out the core station of project manager is discussed in many aspects .the station of project manager, function, responsibility, the relationship between company fictitious person and exercise layer, the system of train, choose and engage project manager.According to the project management practice of Gezhouba Group Corporation in the past two decades, it is very important that supervising and assessing the project department, based on the principles that measuring duty, reinforce assessment, reinforce calling for account detailing rewards and punishment, demonstration research is done about the group corporation project duty establishing, investigate, call to account and rewards and punishment.
