Sociological Analysis On Forest Establishment Mechanism Of Sino-German Afforestation Projects

Taking "mechanism" as the cut-in spot, this paper explores the forest establishment mechanisms used in the Sino-German afforestation projects and analyses sociological factors. Based on the discussion of the social factors in the forestry development at home and abroad, it indicated which one can be used as references and which one cannot be used because of the restriction of the present conditions. By document study, interview research and questionnaire survey, the foundation of the Sino-German afforestation projects' objects have been explored through the analysis of the farmers' opinions on forest establishment, selection of the forest establishment mechanisms, selection of the species for forest establishment, roles of women in the afforestation decision-making and the general opinions of the farmers on Sino-German afforestation projects. It also makes some sociological analyses on the forest establishment mechanisms of the Sino-German afforestation projects, studies the functions of the farmer social network on project publicity and encouraging farmers to understand and participate in the projects, and so on. At last, it is concluded that the social network has played an important role in the Sino-German afforestation projects; the Sino-German afforestation projects have made full use of the social network to develop ecological afforestation and promoted the science, technology and culture development in the project areas; and the Sino-German afforestation projects have realized the harmonious development of the external culture and local traditional culture and promoted the social stability and democracy construction in rural community by way of adopting participatory development concept. It is suggested that the forestry projects should insist on "human-orientated" principle and attach importance on the function of the social net in the projects to realize the sustainable development.
