Based on previous researches about the relationship between job satisfaction and performance, the present study investigated the structure of employee job satisfaction in electric multi-business enterprises, mainly focused on the relationships among job satisfaction, job involvement, organizational commitment and performance. At the same time, we discussed the influence of the personality traits on these factors.One hundred and sixty employees from nine companies participated in this interviews, questionnaire survey. The hypotheses were largely supported. The conclusions of the study are as follows:First, the structure of the job satisfaction will vary in the different industries and organization. The study found the structure of the employee job satisfaction in the electric multi-business enterprises.Second, personality traits except gender and marital status have significant effects on job satisfaction, job involvement and organizational commitment.Third, there is significant positive correlation between job satisfaction and job involvement and organizational commitment, job involvement and performance, organizational commitment and contextual performance. The job satisfaction have an influence on performance through job involvement and organizational commitment.Forth, there are significant interaction effects between employee status and job satisfaction on job involvement and organizational commitment.Fifth, job satisfaction has more positive influence on contextual performance than on task performance. It is more easy to predict contextual performance than task performance use job satisfaction.Finally, the difference dimensions of job satisfaction have the difference influence on the difference dimensions of job involvement, organizational commitment and performance. Moreover, the difference dimensions of job involvement and organizational commitment have the difference influence on the difference dimensions of performance.
