With accelerating global energy resources depletion and increasing environment deterioration, sustainable development has become common understanding of idealistic strategy on long-term development of human being. In recent years, green building has been the hottest keyword in building industry. As city construction progressed rapidly, urgent demand has been imposed on green building. However, the cognition on essence of green building remained obscure presently in China. In this situation, one set of assessment system is asked to set up in order to properly orientate green building, so as to promote extension of green building. The present study was thus carried out in terms of assessment of green building.Firstly, the essence of green building was defined. Based on various definitions of green building globally, it was defined that the essence of green building should be based on human being, with sustainable development of building being stressed. Moreover, the nature, development process and its difference from energy-saving building and intelligent building.Assessment index system was developed. In present study, one more perfect green building assessment index system was constructed through comprehension and comparison of green building assessment system in China and abroad, using life circle assessment method. This system is more suitable for China. It was expandedin terms of natures of green, economy and zone, based on four phases of green building. This research for the first time introduced "nature of economy" (four economy) into assessment index system of green building, which was pointed out after in-depth comprehension on essence of green building.Fuzzy assessment model was established based on the analytic hierarchy process. Power weight of every index was obtained for green building assessment index system through the analytic hierarchy process. Then comprehensive assessment was performed upon the green building assessment index system using blurry assessment model. Compared to general grading method, the blurry assessment method could better perfect this assessment index system from time to time, which is of more science.This thesis selected one Olympic building as a real example analysis. For green building assessment index system putting in better practice and become more perfect constantly, the author made a real example analysis by choose one Olympic building, to improve the natures of science and practice of green building assessment index system in our country.To sum up, the assessment method employed, the assessment index system for green building constructed, the assessment model used, as well as the real example analysis advanced in this study, made assessment of green building be of more science and practice.
