Enterprise Process Reengineering Project Management Research

With the development of science and technology represented by information technology, the international economy demonstrates a kind of Globalization trend gradually, making the competition among enterprises aggravating constantly. In order to have a foothold and develop in the cruel competition, some enterprises go on the information-based road longing for beautiful cherishing, but casting aside the managerial change, and simple carrying on the informationization makes a lot of enterprises move towards declining. For this reason, Hammer M. proposed the view of Business Process Reengineering(BPR) in 1990. Hereafter, BPR plays an important function in the process of improving enterprise's performance and guiding enterprise's informationization as a kind of management thought. And being Fashionable all over the world within a few years, it becomes the new tide in management improvement. Through investigating the emergence , development and ending of the enterprise's procedure, Business Process Reengineering confirms, describes, analyzes, resolves the whole enterprise's process and reconstructs enterprise operating mechanism and organization to match the enterprise's process what realizes the effective management and control of the entire enterprise process , and causes the enterprise to focus truly on the process result, and eliminates the malpractice of traditional management which only to pay great attention to certain link but nobody to be responsible for the entire process. Enterprise's information construction is not only the application of IT technology definitely, but the understanding and application to the advanced management idea of whole enterprises, so enterprise information construction cannot leave the change and optimization of the business process beside, and must make it to be the leadership in the long-term process of information construction. Therefore, the business community urgent need mature BPR implementation technology to instruct its practice. But the thought of BPR is still regarded as a kind of revolutionary idea by people to a great extent at present, although it has offered a kind of angle of thinking and analysis, how to practice with each tools and how to carry on the BPR still needs further study.Business Process Reengineering has not formed a very tight theoretical system so far, but it is really a set of effective methodology which instructs businessmanagement to improve, and has already yielded the substantial result in the practice. By adopting the method of literature research and theoretical analysis combining with case research on the basis of forefathers' research, using the knowledge of the project management, drawing lessons from the typical operation procedure of management consulting, paying close attention to how to implement BPR successfully during the process of business process reengineering in terms of project management, this thesis provides a whole set of method systems of implementing BPR, and then compares and analyses some key technology easy to ignore in BPR, to make every effort to make enterprises have more operational direction during the process of implementing BPR actually.
