The Research Of Present Chinese Labor Participation Rate

China has the most population of the world;it is also the country that has the most quantity of labor in the world. From the establishment of PRC on, because our country has been implementing full-employment policy and social security policy relating to employment and our present situation that China's economic development is still in the elementary stage of socialism, our labor participation rate has been keeping a comparably high level, recently, along with the deepening of reform and openness, the structure of our labor participation rate has changed enormously too.The thesis bases on the every year's census data from reform and openness to now and data from Statistic Almanac, analyzing the changing orbit of our present labor participation rate, analyzing and proving the age, sex, urban and rural and district differences of the labor participation rate, and then getting the following conclusions: labor participation rate of our adolescence population is descending, adolescence educated population is increasing;the difference of female labor participation rate is notable relating to the difference of economy development level, the labor participation rate of districts which have higher economy development level is inferior to that of districts which have lower economy development level remarkably;because of the limitation of economy development level and the influence of the coverage of social security, the difference of urban and rural, district labor participation rate is bigger. And then the thesis analyzes the forming reason of our present labor participation rate structure, talks about deeply the reasons in aspects of economy, institution, historic development, and so on. Although our present labor participation rate is in a higher level, assessing in aspects of GDP index, residents' consuming level and labor's individual development condition, our present labor participation rate gives an effective supply to our country's economic development, stimulates the developing of economy, at the same time, promotes people's living level and whole quality, so we can say that our present labor participation rate is an effective labor supply. However, to see the issue vertically, the main existed problems are that the whole country's quality is still low, the structure of residents' consume is inappropriate, the promoting effect that labor supply gives to economic developmentis descendent remarkably, the writer considers the reasons are: Firstly, along with the adjusting of our economic structure, the adjustment of our labor supply structure exists a lag;Secondly, the relating policy enactment for labor market exists a lag;Thirdly, because our economic development level is low and the constraint of some bottleneck problems, some difficulties can't be resolved in a short run. Depending on the above analysis, the thesis raises suggestions for the improvement of labor supply structure, mainly discussing from the quality of labor supply, relating policy suggestion for labor market and economic development.
