This research focuses on assembly line balancing and manpower allocation problem in automobile manufacturing industry, which is one type of combinatorial problem. As far as automobile manufacturing industry is concerned, one major responsibility of management is to make assembly line balancing and allocate manpower to stations of the assembly line optimally. The constraints about assembly line balancing is required when production cells of the assembly line is balanced, thus that of allocation problem is required after assembly line balancing when manpower is allocated to stations of assembly line. The constraints about assembly line balancing and allocation problem must be settled for any of feasible key. A great deal of articles about assembly line balancing and allocation problem was not considered as an integrated problem, but considered at unilateral problem.The article aims at the structural characteristic of assembly line about K2 automobile manufacturing and discusses a pattern about assembly line balancing and advisable allocation according to the viewpoint of manpower allocation. This can be a reference for production manager in enterprise. This paper analyzes the detailed process and technical condition of enterprise, integrating the production, using heuristic method, explores the detailed methods to analyzing and solving problem, offering the detailed steps, solved the practical problem occurred on production line, having the practical significance. Comparing with other article, it has the practical characteristic. The method provided in this paper could be popularizes to other similar manufacturing factory, it will shows a significant improvement because it's simple, practical and easy to master.Based on the assembly line balancing, that is to say, the tasks in assembly line is feasibly allocated to stations of the assembly line, the paper analyzes five bottleneck-stations of the assembly line. The traditional method for solving allocation problem is used to allocate appropriate worker to bottleneck-stations in order to reduce the circle time of assembly line and enhance productivity. The result shows that the efficiency of the assembly line soars from 67.7% to 93.8%, which make the line balance to the best level under current situation of the enterprise.
