The production line balancing rate of M company’s products have been at a lowerlevel in latest two years, usually between65%and75%, well below85%, the level inthe same industry. Increased the company’s labor cost, affected the company’scompetitiveness seriously.In this dissertation, with combination of theory and practice, study theproduction process of HT server product in M company, utilize work measurementmethod to collect production line balancing data, analysis and get the line balancinglevel of unimproved HT production line. Then break down the work factors, utilizeheuristic balancing algorithm to redesign the work process, and perfect the heuristicbalancing algorithm base on IE thinking, acquired a very good improvement effect. Atthe end, evaluated the benefit of this improvement, it has a practical significance torelated companies.Via production line balancing improvement, the balance rate of HT productionline was improved from original71.6%to88.9%, while shortening the productioncycle time, reduced the number of work stations and the number of operator, reducedproduct labor hours, increased the production capacity, and got an annual economicbenefit of over700thousands RMB yuan.Through this research, also solved three isssues in M company effectively,including the problem of inaccurate work measurement, the problem of ineffectiveand halfway split work elements, as well as the low utilization problem of somestation after heuristic balancing algorithm. At the same time, via the study of linebalancing improvement, help company understand the practical application of IEmethods and heuristic balancing algorithm, and established a standard and canonicalprocedure for line balancing improvement. It has a certain reference value for similarcompanies.
