Science and technology have effect on the process of Social history and permeate every historical stage. In the late Qing Dynasty, both sides of the Opium War and the movement of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom of the attack, this led Chinese people to realize that western science and technology was strong and began to explore the "mystery of industrial country" Western modern mathematics was introduced to China in this social environment, at the same time Chinese mathematics began to blend with that. A large number of Church’s, official’s and private’s translation and publishing institutions and works have emerged. After the translation of Daiweijishiji, Jneyishuxue and the other books, Analytic geometry, calculus, probability theory and other western modern mathematics knowledge were communicated and researched in China, western algebraic expressions were accepted by Chinese, the mathematical symbols were standardized, and a new set of mathematical terms were established, which is the sign of mathematics westernization in late Qing Dynasty.Explaining the basic completion of mathematics westernization in the late Qing Dynasty and understanding the development of mathematics and the impact on China is the purpose of this paper. The main content is that accurately describes the incoming of Western mathematics, translation and replaces the traditional Chinese mathematics by the literature research method and the uniform law of history and logic. This paper consists of5chapters. The first chapter, involves introduction, the summary and evaluation of the basic completion of mathematics westernization, illuminates the meaning of researching the mathematics westernization. The second chapter, introduces the overall environment of the late Qing Dynasty, respectively describes the Chinese social environment and the mathematical environment in the late Qing Dynasty. The third chapter, the basic completion of mathematics westernization in the late Qing Dynasty, narrates the second incoming of Western mathematics, the translation and influence in China. The fourth chapter, the case study, Daiweijishiji as the research objects to vividly illustrates the basic completion of mathematics westernization and the influence in China. Chapter five is the conclusion. Chinese mathematics was accomplished in the late Qing Dynasty. The development of mathematics and the social environment are closely related and indirectly reflect the social development issues.
