The large-scale metallurgy blast furnace engineering have the characteristics ofmany stakeholders, complex technology, bad environment, high investment, large scale,long costruction period, is a large systems engineering. Good management, can make theproject construction process each link, all kinds of resources can be effectively organized,organic combination, so as to ensure the construction project quality, schedule, safety,cost effective control.In recent years, with the rapid development of construction technology andindustrial smelting technology, and for the construction unit, the project management isstill using the traditional management methods, management idea backwardness, lack ofawareness of related issues in the process of construction schedule, thereby affecting theprogress of the project. Construction schedule management is often neglected in theconstruction, when the time limit for pressing time, due to the construction of Partyconstruction pressure, not the normal and orderly construction, and blindly rush deadlines,inevitably leads to quality, safety and other aspects of engineering and increase theconstruction cost, the construction progress control is not only related to the constructionprogress is the goal can be realized, but also related to project quality and cost.This paper reviews the basic project management theory, based on the currentsituation of large metallurgy blast furnace engineering, analysis of the characteristics ofthe large-scale metallurgical engineering. Combined with the2560m3blast furnace bodyconstruction progress control practice of a steel plant, blast furnace in2560m3mainbuilding project as an example the project schedule control theory, discuss the projectschedule control principle; analysis of the relationship between the project schedulecontrol and pre planning, quality, technology, dynamic adjustment of the implementationprocess, before the project was carried out in the process. The beforehand control, thingsin control, and the use of earned value method for schedule and cost management.
