Flame cutting CNC machine is a kind of widely used plate cutting equipment whichmainly used for steel plate cutting.In recent years,domestic NC cutter has developedrapidly,but most of CNC system were not independent production. What’s more, there is still agap between foreign advanced numerical control system and the domestic development ofnumerical control system. The main problem is that man-machine interface simple,inconvenience and poor stability of system operation. In order to make the CNC cuttingmachine operation more simple, more friendly man-machine interface, more reliable andcheaper, open cutting machine CNC system based on motion controller met the marketdemand.This paper puts forward the development of the CNC flame cutting machine system whichbased on motion controller, CNC cutting machine as the research object,“PC+motioncontroller” as the development platform. Aimed at the cutting machine CNC system problemsexist at present stage in China,development of a stable, efficient and meeting the demand of themarket of CNC system has great significance for raising the level of thermal cutting in ourcountry.First of all,surveys the present situation of the development of numerical control flamecutting machine,and analyzes the operating requirements of users for nc cutting machine. Aftercomprehensive analysis of CNC cutting machine CNC system, puts forward the control modelof “PC+motion controller”, and then design the CNC cutting machine overall structure.Established the hardware platform of the CNC flame cutting machine, then selection ofthe parts, including the composition of motion control system, servo system of the selection, thedesign of the electrical parts, motor control part of hardware, the design of the operation panel,etc.Put forward the CNC flame cutting machine research scheme of the system software,using object-oriented technology to develop management function module and motion controlmodule. Management function module includes file management module,parameter settingmodule,graphic module,etc.The key research and analysis is decoding parser, the realization ofthe function of processing control. Control features include automatic machining, pause, breakpoint memory function, according to the original track returns, and other functions, tosolve the traditional system which is low degree intelligent.In the process of tool radius compensation and tool radius transition type of determinationand calculation of the cutting tool radius compensation through coordinates are studied. Studiedthe PLC module and discussed the method to realize the programmable IO.On the labexperimental platform debugs the numerical control system which is developped.
