With the improvement of people’s living standards, requirements of furniture and homedecoration have become increasingly demanding. UV roller coating for its superiorperformance has inestimable prospects especially in the furniture painting like doors. Currently,there is no integrated UV coating equipment, and there is no UV roller coating technology forusage on doors or vertical sides of furniture parts before. Thus one integrated vertical rollercoating equipment containing UV roller coating, sanding and UV curing processes, which isalso efficient and energy-saving, will greatly enhance the economic efficiency of enterprises.For the problems existed during the coating process of finishing doors or furniturecomponents and actual demands for the domestic market, this paper based on the research ofvertical sides of doors aims to design and manufacture an integrated device consisted of sanding,UV vertical roller coating and UV curing.The main contents are as followed:(1) After checking a wide range of relevant data and information, in the full understandingof research on UV roller coating technology based on the current situation home and abroad,combining with the actual needs, main performance parameters and design requirements of UVvertical roller coating machine are determined.(2) On the base of full analyses and researches on finishing technology of edge verticalroller coating, the designation of the vertical roller coating equipment was put forward. Aconveying unit, a feeding and guiding unit, a work-piece pressing and positioning unit, asanding unit, a UV vertical roller coating unit and a UV curing unit are the main parts of thedevice. All these working units are installed in a series way.(3) The structure design of main parts of the machine was taken into consideration andSolidworks2010was used to build all the elements of the UV roller coating machine, whichwere used in the virtual assembly. Finite element analysis technology was also introduced intotesting the security and reliability of the design by Solidworks Simulation, which is a plug-inunit of Solidworks2010, key elements of the main parts of the machine were analyzed.(4) Based on combination of Siemens PLC and man-machine interface (touch screen),high efficiency, high stability, high accuracy and high intelligent control system are designed.Thus vertical side plates with different thickness can be processed in different processing speedto fulfill different manufacturing requirements.(5) Finally, the performance test of UV vertical roller coating machine was carried out,mainly included the analysis of performance test of equipment and product properties of films.The main research of the UV vertical roller coating machine included both unloadedperformance test and loading performance test. And analyses of product properties included finished film thickness, film hardness and adhesive force. Film tests were carried out in order toexamine the design parameters on product qualities of UV vertical roller coating machine.This paper has completed the design, modeling and simulation of UV vertical rollercoating machine, and sloved key problems of design of transporting, UV roller coating, sandingand UV curing,Meanwhile analyses of performance test of equipment and product properties offilms.
