With the problem of gradual reduction of oil resources, high cost of oil production andincreasingly complex technology and environmental issues in the exploitation of oil and gas,the improvement of recovery is very necessary. The conventional completions limited by thetechnology and equipment, are accompanied with lots of workover and water shutoff, itincreases the cost and can’t achieve the fully exploitation. However, the intelligent wellcompletion can reduce the workover operations and enhance the oil recovery. With the ICV(inflow control valve), it can realize the function of downhole inflow control in theenvironment of high temperature and pressure. The ICV is the core of the intelligent wellcompletion, however, the study of ICV is relatively little in our country.This paper analyzes the principle and application of ICD (Inflow Control Device) andICV, designs the structure of ICV based the downhole environment. In addition, the tightness,flash and cavitation are also analyzed. Fluent is used to calculate the pressure drop and flowcoefficient under different openings. The calculation of inflow dynamic performance inthrottle state is completed based the the conventional inflow performance model. The papercalculates the flow pressure-production relationship and the IPR curve with the valve openingis100%,30%,15%and no ICV.In the mechanics anslysis, the thickness of sleeve is designed by the third strength theory,the paper uses ANSYS to calculate the deformation of the valve sleeve and contrast to thesealing performance. The stress of ICV in elastic and elastic-plastic state under the downholeenvironment is also analyzed.About the control system of the ICV, the control model of drive system with the parameters of motor, reducer and sleeve is established. The paper design the PID, incompletedifferential PID and MPC control systems, and uses the MATLAB to complete the simulationto analyze and contrast the time domain and frequency domain characteristics of the twocontrol system.
