China is one of the industrial countries. The large iron and steel production basesuch as Wuhan Iron and steel, Baosteel, Shougang is built in China. Although Chinaremains the high iron and steel production, but the quality of steel falls behind the worldstandard, and it is not a small gap. The main reason restricting the development ofChina’s iron and steel industry is China’s iron and steel equipment is severelyunderdeveloped, the degree of automation is not high.In the high speed steel rolling production, one of the most important aspect is onPrecision machining of its head and tail, that is the flying shear. This paper designs anew type of intelligent control system of flying shear. The system of flying shear systemis optimized and the application of the fuzzy control theory is used in this system,combined with the latest Siemens PLC products. It can effectively improve the cuttingprecision shearing in production line. Compare with the transformation of complexequipment, the new system only through the PLC programming to realize the fuzzycontrol, the transformation cost is low, the control effect is achieve the final meet andthe actual production requirements.Combining with the actual situation of Wuhan Iron and Steel Group Corp compactstrip production line transformation, This paper analyze the positioning principle offlying shear, and compared the advantages and disadvantages of DC and AC speedregulation. This paper analyze AC speed control device, and control method, And givethe optimization that is the parabola curve in the flying shear parking and ladder typeposition loop transformation plan. The practical application of the new intelligentcontrol algorithm improves the accuracy of the system. The hardware part is realized bythe Siemens400series, software is realized in STEP7environment.
