With the development of continuous rolling mill,flying shear tends to be widely applied? As the key equipment in the high speed rolling mill,as well as failure prone area, whether the flying shear works properly or not directly impacts on the product quality and yield. In other word, if the flying shear controls well, the yield well be greatly improved. If not, there may cause steel reactor and output of pile inferior steel products, which has direct impact on the economic benefit of enterprise,therefore studying on the control of cold rolling strip flying shear has importent significance.This thesis makes an deep study on the flying shear control system based on the project of XinSteel 1550mm six mill roll and five-stand cold rolling unit. Firstly, we analyze the key of flying shear machine motion control and find that the calculation of shear and the synchronization between blade and steel in the shear action is the most important. Then we put forward control algorithm of the flying shear. We establish the mathematical model of cam curve according to the relation between the length and circumference of the knife roller shearing unit, realizing the cutting edge position control and speed control. At the same time, the design of welder cutting, weight cutting, length cutting, coil diameter cutting and four shear mode has met the product specification requirements of different users. Secondly, we presents a kind of five order polynomial motion trajectory control model to control the operation of the flying shear machine according to the flying shear motion path curve, and we design the flying shear machine motion control system by using Siemens SCOUT engineering software platform, at the same time, design hardware of the system by using Ethernet and Profibus-DP to realize the communication between TDC and picture monitoring devices, which accurately realizes seam tracking from entrance to exit, making sure that the key equipment of production line makes a predetermined action when weld arrives, realizing the remote operation and control of flying shear. Debugging results show that shearing blade can cut the strip accurately and fast and related parameters are stable; there are no fluctuations,no cut strip, no pile of steel tensile steel or other phenomena, and the system controls effectively.Finally,the thesis summarize the common faults and processing methods which have strong practicability and play very important role in the future maintenance work. The design of flying shear system has realized high precision and low failure rate control.
