The Study On The Strategy Of Investment Promotion In Nantong

As one of the first 14 open costal cities permitted to the international trade and investment, Nantong city has made a tremendous achievement in FDI attraction by implementing economic internationalization and opening up strategies. FDI, one of the most important growth points, makes a great contribution to Nantong city economy. However, threatened by financial crisis, FDI faces new problems: shortage of coastal resources, decrease of FDI, lack of big projects. Thus, it is meaningful and practical to take Nantong city as the model to conduct a research on the transition and update of government FDI strategies.Taking Nantong's FDI utilization situation in recent years as the study object, this essay explores the common problems of local government FDI attraction, analyses both the internal and external environment factors of Nantong city, and studies on timely investment promotion mechanism adjustment to deal with new situation. Based on the FDI and economic growth theory, adopting analysis method of statistic research, SWOT and public administration theory, the essay concludes with new FDI strategies to promote industry concentration and investment selection to further provide new driving force for Nantong's sustainable development.
