Knowledge of the economic structure has gradually taken up a lager part of the economy, and intellectual property strategy has become the core means for enterprises to compete in the market. In December 31,2009, intellectual property strategy to promote the projects by small and medium-sized enterprises was jointly issued by the national intellectual property department as well as the department of industry and information. In china, the intellectual property system was established not a long time ago and related research has only been focused on the macroeconomic level while the microeconomic part has not been given in-depth attention.This essay is hopefully designed to provide the small and media-sized enterprises with proper intellectual property strategy so that they can not only protect and utilize the intellectual property but also prevent it from risks. First of all, this article describes the outer environment of the intellectual property development from the provincial, national and international aspects. It then talks about the resources and comprehensive capacity of intellectual property in small and media-sized enterprises in Jiangxi. Besides, it analyses the current conditions of intellectual property development, the problems it faces as well as the reasons which include; low awareness of intellectual property, weak innovation ability and difficult finance. By analyzing and studying the intellectual property strategy adopted by the small and middle-sized enterprises in other typical areas and considering the provincial environment, the author comes up with some advices on intellectual property for the small and middle-sized enterprises in Jiangxi; that is, patent strategy or brand strategy should be adopted. The former one refers to the use of innovative patent strategy while introducing technology; that is adopt the improved patent strategy and the compound strategy of patent strategy and brand strategy in the technology's development. The brand strategy, on the other hand, includes the ready brand strategy and virtually management strategy for brands. In the end, it is mentioned that the intellectual property strategy in small and media-sized enterprises can be achieved through the enterprises'efforts to improve their capacity in intellectual property and the system's protection such as the law and public finance.
