Lean production is a kind production mode. Its key point is to increase profits based on cost reduction. Lean production includes two meanings, one is "fine", which means excellent, accurate and elegant; the other is "benefit", which means interest, efficiency and etc. In order to achieve maximum profits, it takes the profits ideology as its management idea, emphasizes elimination of waste and improves efficiency to achieve cost reduction. In today's increasingly fierce competitive markets, lean production becomes an effective guarantee to reduce cost and improve the competitiveness for the manufacturing industry in China.Based on the conditions of a large-scale engineering machinery enterprise, by means of related theory of lean production, the enterprise production is analyzed and improved. The main contents of this paper include following items:1. First the study on the background of lean production, as well as domestic and international research in related fields is introduced. According to SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats), based on the introduction of lean production-related technology and methods, the current situation of engineering machinery industry is analyzed in depth and as the theoretical guidance, the theory system of lean production is established. The lean production system can be divided into three levels:the background level (the target, policy and the implementation basis of lean production), the pillar level (lean production logistics and information flow) and the middle level (lean production-related techniques).2. The lean quality system is researched in depth; the lean quality loss model is built. This model includes the theoretical analysis model and the mathematical model based on the number of faults for quantization, and then their relationship between these models is analyzed. The lean production information system is also analyzed. With the consideration of the enterprise's constructability, the transformation of the lean production information system is accomplished by increasing the corresponding modules on the basis of its original ERP.3. The application of the relevant theoretical achievements is accomplished in S enterprise. As the promotion foundation, the lean production culture is expatiated in details. Value flow diagram is used to analyze the non-value-added activities in the enterprise, which are to be eliminated by some techniques in lean production. The techniques conclude production line balancing, logistics improvements and process improvements etc. The quality loss model is applied to S enterprise to analyze its reasons for quality loss, and provides effective evidences and guidance for continuous improvement and development of the quality management.Through the study on lean information system, the equipment management module is built to guarantee the normal operation of equipment maintenance. Based on quality improvement research of the quality loss model, the enterprise information is published simultaneously to meet seamless connections between supply chain nodes. Through the establishment of the module for production process units, in which the product decomposition theory is combined with the push/pull method, the customer-oriented product life-cycle track is realized.According to the lean production techniques, the theoretical models are studied, and applied to S enterprise. Good results of theoretical research and practical application have been obtained finally.
