Study On Multi-project Quality Management System Optimization Of Continental Automotive Corporation

The research object of this thesis is Continental Automotive Corporation Changchun plant. This thesis introduces the multi-project advanced quality management system optimization action plans based on DMAIC disciplines to us.The mission of this thesis is tried to resolve problems by DMAIC discipline. Define the system target and requirements from customer point of view and based on internal procedures. Measure the current status of system by distributed questionnaires. Get the gap between target and current status by comparison. Analysis the factors which blocked the system running smoothly and get the root causes. Define action plans and implement it completely. Ensure the system under control and achieve continuous improvement.There have two phases when we talk about project management in Continental. We are focus on the activities be acted on advanced stage, make improvement action plans for human resources, equipment resources, product strategy and management tools. Hope this thesis can provide valuable proposals to Continental Changchun plant and hope it can help the company achieve continuous improvement in future.One of the corporation targets is using limited recourses and limited cost to achieve best performance by high speed. The target object often involves quality management and project management. Continental corporation as one of the company get TS quality management system certification, and management activity based on formal procedure strictly. Continental must have to handle these activities by enough resource. The main activity could be summarized as AIAG APQP flowchart. It include project plan, product design, process design, process and product validation, corrective action. For complete one project by this procedure, we have to get the strong cooperation from each related department. Then we can image the current resource must be optimized for achieve manage multi-project advanced quality management well.Resource can be sorted as human resource and equipment resource. Human resource optimization can be achieved by improve employee capability, improve know-how share in internal, improve the organization, push corporation culture and so on. Equipment can be separated as validate equipment and manufacture equipment. Validate equipment optimization can be achieved by collect test requirement regularly, use the 2^nd part resource as much as possible. Manufacture equipment optimization can be achieved by improve the layout, make the test equipment by same standard. We are not only focus on resource but also have to integrate the product design concept. Same design concept can push different product use same raw material and resource same supplier; same design concept can push different product be produced by same manufacture line, increase manufacture effectiveness, reduce the double equipment invest and the risk of product defectiveness; same design concept can use same validation program when make design validation test or product validation test. Of course, integrate the product design concept have to get the strong support from top management level, and need time to run it smoothly. But we can believe no any excuse to refuse this action plan.Besides resource optimization and integrate product design concept, management tools is one of the important factors for achieve multi-project quality management system running effectively. The management tools, especially some tools based on software and can be used on line offered the feasibility of multi-project management. Use these tools as rule is one of the conditions which system running well.The multi-project advanced quality management system is running at Continental Corporation Changchun plant daily. We can believe there still have gap can be detected by the daily running in practice, and the system should be improved continuously.
