In response to the requirements of national environmental protection, the new energy in vehicle power system application is need to development. With the Tesla successfully listed, lithium batteries will instead of gasoline in the technology become possible. The lithium battery was first applied in electronic products, and applications to be used in the automotive and in electronic products are a lot of differences. Lithium ion battery product development cycle is long, and the cost of investment in research and development of new products is high, but low reliability. In addition, the market is constantly changing, if the introduction of new competitive products is not very fast, it may result in the loss of customers. So, efficient development and research process is the goal of each lithium battery enterprises.Lithium battery companys is going to join the automotive industry, put forward higher requirements for the production management of enterprises: first,they shoud conform to the standards of TS16949, and requires the application of APQP in the new roduct development process.This paper focuses on how to apply project management to TSl6949 quality management system and build research and development process using its core tools – APQP?FMEA?SPC?MSA and PPAP. The whole process of the research based on the new product development process on lithium battery which in a new company JEVE.Firstly introduces the source background significance of the research, Then select the lithium ion battery products company a application and on the car as an example, a detailed statement of this type of battery application on APQP process. The final conclusion, the enterprise can be in accordance with the APQP process to establish how to Research develop an new product.After use of the process,shorten the development cycle of new type of battery by the previous half year reduced to5 months, at the same time new product qualified rate raised from 78% to 86%. The five tools are particularly useful, by application in JV company bring huge economic benefits for the enterprise, also be worth other company in the same industry reference.
