In this essay, I mainly study the relations between enterprise reorganization and its corporate culture reshaping through a case study of Greatwall Driling Company (GWDC). As a response to the changes of macro-economic scenarios, petroleum services and engineering companies start to restructure and recognize rapidly, GWDC follows this trend too. Taking GWDC's reorganization as a case, I give a review on the background and destination of its reorganization; depending on the basic theory of corporate culture and the common features of drilling company's culture, I analyze deeply the possible approaches of cultural reshaping.My viewpoints can be concluded as following:culture construction is a long but systematic process. As a branch of Petroleum Company, drilling company's culture building should inherit excellent cultural element from petroleum industry. After the reorganization of drilling company, the destination of cultural construction is fixed to reshape corporate culture. GWDC, one of the five drilling company of CNPC,its culture is very typical but intricate. This essay gives a deep insight on GWDC's cultural background and analyzes common and differential characteristics of Liaohe Drilling, the former GWDC and CNLC. The reshaping of GWDC's culture mainly depends on:at the spiritual level, to clarify and summarize the strategy, culture feature and idea system; at the institution level, to absorb the management advantage of the three companies and build up a common management system; at the conduction level, to educate cultivate international employees and formulate the common conduction regulation; at the material level, to provide excellent technical services, promote the brand and create good economic benefits; finally, at the processing procedure, to clarify, summarize, implement, diagnose and continuously improve.The study indicates that cultural reshaping can be the first but most important task to settle cultural crash, expand market and promote core competence. At the very beginning of reorganization, GWDC map out the strategy to build itself as the general contractor of technical services and engineering, accordingly, the mid and long term development plan, three-step plan, namely, the first step is for inclusion, stability and regulation; the second, for safety, efficiency, brand and sustainability; and the third, for resources, talents, market and internationalization. Meanwhile, GWDC take leadership, cohesiveness, execution and innovation as its goal of cultural construction; Faithful, Fearless and Fighting as the team spirit. Cultural construction has clear idea. But as the environment changes, GWDC need to further summarize its culture system, emphasize the practice of cultural ideas, make good use of the models, grasp the methods to promote its image, expand the power of corporate culture, and cultivate unique advantage to promote the step toward international development and safeguard the national energy security by its capability of technology and services.
