The scale of undergraduate education in tourism management is extendingquickly in our country, with the development of the tourism industry. Due to thedifferences in history and environment, each country’s tourism personneltraining model is unique. The tourism management of Switzerland and theUnited States are in the leader position. Their training models are morerepresentative.Undergraduate education of tourism management in China has followed thetraditional training model of higher education, the traditional model is able tocompletely grasp the basis and integrity of knowledge, but the comprehensiveQuality and the innovation capability of students are relatively weak. Havingrecognized the drawbacks of the traditional mode, some scholars have explorednew types of personnel training. Though lots of personnel training are tried,there is still a large gap with the foreign presence. Therefore the highereducation of undergraduate in tourism management is still needed to explore aswell as integrate the training modes in China and other foreign countries, accept the good respects, and follow the path of higher tourism education with Chinesecharacteristics.At present, China’s undergraduate education in tourism managementgradually improves teaching conditions, deepens the teaching reform andteacher resources. But there is no a set of well-developed training modes that iswell-recognized by experts and scholars. This paper, aiming at building the“quality–the market-oriented” training model, taking survey research methodsand comparative methods, starting from summarizing the elements of trainingmodel, and analyzes differences between domestic and foreign tourism trainingmodel of undergraduate education in tourism management., points out the mainproblems in China’s tourism undergraduate education, reveals the inherentrequirement. The writer hopes that it will be beneficial in the development ofChina’s undergraduate tourism education.
