China has clearly put Tianjin Binhai New Area into the overall development strategy, and Tianjin port is an important component of Binhai New Area, which is the largest comparative advantage and core strategic resources of Tianjin. The development of Binhai New Area creates a unique historical opportunity for Tianjin Port, which is to accelerate development for the purpose of being a world-class port. Therefore, Tianjin port needs to enhance itself through diversification management, which means to provide more comprehensive services, including extension and expansion of a single kind of service, and improve various logistics functions.Firstly, this thesis studies the meaning and motivation of diversitication management of port and summarizes the successful experiences; it analyzes the present situation of Tianjin port; then it studies the external and internal environment which is influential to diversitication management of the port; and then it make prediction of throughput and container throughput of Tianjin port, and also analyzes the development trend of four species of container cargo, coal, iron ore and oil; finally, with the analysis above, this thesis summarizes the problems existing in diversitication management of Tianjin port, on the one hand, it faces the supply diversion of Cao Feidian port, on the other hand, it needs to serve many problems of port losistics, so the paper finds out the corresponding development strategies, such as the active construction of dry port, and the improvement of custom environment to increase the cargo resources, at the same time, it can improve logistics environment to improve the service level of port logistics.
