Research On Lead Time Optimization Of WS Company Based Upon Value-Stream-Map Analyzing Method

Lean production is originated from TOYOTA production system, which is resulted from conclusion of Automobile Industry by MIT experts. The core point is to remove all the useless working and muda. Now VSM is one of the most important tool to Analyse Lean production system.This thesis is beginning from description and research of lean production and related VSM. Based on the case of production procedure of WS company, and with the combination of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis method, we use VSM to outline WS Company's current Value Stream Map. We can find the main muda of over quantitative production, inventory, waiting and carrying during production process. According to current VSM drawing analysis and evaluation on current production status, We make out the solve way and strategy to shorten Lead Time. And then we need to choose the key route during production procedure by PERT, and go ahead project plan accordingly; We need to use SMED to shorten die exchange time , and reduce the huge WIP because of waiting, and then shorten the Lead Time. We use Cell production, One piece flow and line balance to reduce the carrying distance and WIP, and to shorten the lead time. With the lean production methods , we can optimize and improve the main problems, remove inventory, Waiting, carrying and other muda, finally we can optimize the delivery, improve production workplace, and reduce cost at most.In the thesis, with the practical application of VSM on WS Company, we explore lean production theory and method applying in the mould and plastic manufactory industry, it is positive guide for this manufacturer and other similar manufacturers. Meanwhile it is a guiding flag for the research and application of lean production conception in domestic manufacturers.
