With the China automotive market rapid growing, the market of automotivemotor shaft is also growing fast. The short production lead time is the key point towin the market. The study on the production lead time will help company adapt themarket speed, improve the competitive strength and win more share market.This paper purpose is to improve the production lead time in A company motorshaft line to resolve the problems with high finish goods and working in process, lowdelivery on time rate and high premium freight cost. With the knowledge of LeanManufacturing System Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to find the highest wasteoperation, then using routine update to improve production lead time, apply SingleMinute Exchange of Die (SMED) and with the knowledge with continuous reviewmodel to follow the rules of the theory of constrains (TOC) to maxim the bottle neckoutput speed, the production lead time has been reduced from8.93days to5.22dayswhich improve the A company motor shaft line customer service level significantly.This study shows Lean Manufacturing System and TOC can work together welland a good example for continuous review model implement in production schedulingsystem.
