Research On Manufacturing Lead Time In HL Company

With economic globalization, customer demand and market competition are more and more personalized. High-tech industry faces problems of short product life cycle, the number of varieties of rapid expansion, the higher and higher requirement of quick delivery. The main goal of production management from traditional QCDMS (quality, cost, delivery, morale and safety) to the response speed, how to shorten the time to respond as soon as possible customer demand, becoming the key of enterprise production management.In this thesis the lead time of HL Company, which is in the hard disk industry is studied. To select the most suitable a series of management theories or principle, match with the development of company, and keep improvement of its management and innovation ability. Firstly the lead time of current status and its problem are identified. Due to process allocation, the product flow is in order with fix lot size within process. It caused breakdown of parts flow and information flow between processes. Through internal effort, the process capacity was improved to shorten tact time. To reduce the lot size minimized WIP accumulation. Lean production as a production management technology was applied to the rebuild process flow. Considering the current situation, use different methodology for process flow. Before DET test, to start pull production system. After it, to start continuous flow. This kind of combination of pull and push production method result in lead time improvement from 3 days to 1day. Then take measures to optimize production site layout, achieve total productive maintenance, and optimize production information system. The more important thing is to achieve lean culture construction. Every employee should involve in it, to motive their enthusiasm and creativity.
