| Tourism service trade is an important source of foreign exchange earnings for our country. It makes great contribution to the development of national economy. However, China is a big country rather than a powerful country in tourism. This phenomenon has exposed a problem in the development of the tourism trade in services. Therefore, a research on the competitiveness of tourism service trade between China and U.S. is comparatively analyzed, to discover gaps and provide recommendations of improvement.In this paper, an index evaluation system of tourism service trade with cores of international market share index, revealed comparative advantage index, service quality advantage index is built based on the characteristics of tourism service trade and previous studies. This index system evaluated the competitiveness of tourism service trade from three levels of absolute amount, relative proportion and service quality respectively. To better reflect the status of international competitiveness of tourism service trade of China and America, the tourism service trade in the top ten countries including China and America are selected to quantitative analysis. Results show that, China ranks fifth in the international market share index, ranks eighth in the revealed comparative advantage index and ranks tenth in the service quality advantage index. While America ranks first, second, and first place respectively on three indexes. So, there is a big gap between the international competitiveness of China and America.In order to find the factor influencing the differences between the international competitiveness of tourism service trade of China and America, an empirical model between the two countries is first built based on factor endowments. Model regression results show that, the most important factor affecting China's international competitiveness of tourism service trade is the capital factor. While the most important factor affecting U.S. international competitiveness of tourism service trade is the labor factor, followed by the capital factor. In order to better analyze the factor that impact China's international competitiveness of tourism service trade, an empirical analysis is preceded on three aspects of capital factors:original value of tourism fixed assets, international scheduled flights route number and FDI, based on the contrast analysis. Results show that, international scheduled flights route number has the greatest impact on the international competitiveness of tourism service trade of China, followed by original value of tourism fixed assets, again for FDI.On the basis of previous comparable analysis, countermeasures of enhancing international competitiveness of tourism service trade in China are brought forward, from three levels of state, industry, enterprise. |
