In recent years, the role that the tourism service trade plays on sustainable economic development is more and more obvious, and the foreign trade policy is gradually turning to the tourism service trade in all countries. Trade in tourism services usually associated with many industries, and it also has a wide range of influence. With the continuous development of Chinese economy, social reform and the improvement of infrastructure being improved all the time, moreover, the growth of total amount of Chinese tourism service trade is leading the way. Owing to the increases of per capital disposable income of China, the strong trend of RMB exchange rate, the improvement of tourist facilities and the slowing down of tour abroad restrictions, Chinese tourism service trade appears to have an increasing trend in the trade deficit. In order to return trade deficit to surplus, it is essential to make a comprehensive analysis, discuss some urgent solutions in the development of Chinese tourism service trade, and find the way that can improve the international competitiveness of tourism service trade.This paper follows the idea that contains research background, literature reviewing,putting forward the problem,empirical research and policy recommendations. Furthermore,the thesis analyzes the competitiveness and export potentiality of Chinese tourism service trade. Firstly, this paper starts with the current situation of Chinese tourism service trade,based on the tourism service trade’s import and export data, and combines quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. It analyzes the existing development, from trade scale,inbound tourism and outbound tourism, trade structure and any other aspects of Chinese tourism service trade. Secondly, it uses travel and sightseeing competitiveness index(TTCI)to analyze each part of international competitiveness of Chinese tourism service trade and find competitive advantage index as well as inferior indexes. Then, making quantitative analysis by using sensitivity analysis on 14 impact indicators, furthermore, calculate which impacts indicators plays an essential role and which one plays a negative role on Chinese tourism service trade. Finally, on the basis of a comparative analysis of the previous text,aiming at the problems existing in the international competitiveness of tourism service trade between our country and powerful nation in tourism service trade in the world, and then propose some countermeasures and suggestions.
