In the fierce market competition environment, Innovation has become the key factor of enterprises' economic development; it's the motivation of economic development and social progress. Enterprise is the foundation of the national economy. To improve the enterprise survival capacity, it should continuously improve enterprise's innovation ability. The enhancement of enterprise's innovation ability is the foundation of innovation capability improvement of an industry, a region and nation.At present, the domestic scholars' research achievements about innovation ability are mainly concentrated in the macro theoretical level. The research on national innovation system, regional innovation system, the industrial innovation ability is much more, but the research on the evaluation of enterprise innovation ability of is not enough. The objective evaluation on enterprise innovation ability and putting forward its improvement measures has an important meaning for enterprise's development and plays an extremely important role in establishing an innovative country and enhancing national competitiveness.Enterprises take part in specific innovation activities. They need to master the standard of measuring its innovation ability, understand the innovation ability gap with other competitive enterprises. They need a set of scientific, authentic and comprehensive evaluation index system of enterprise's innovation capability to realize dynamic supervision and evaluation of enterprise's innovation ability. Managers can make development strategy according to the evaluation results; the enterprise investors also need the information of the enterprise's innovation ability of to help they make reasonable investment decision. Publicizing the information of enterprise's innovation ability is helpful to perfect our country securities market and make it develop healthily and orderly; the government also needs a set of effective evaluation standard of enterprise's innovation capability to formulate preferential policies for encouraging enterprise innovation.This thesis comprehensively applies the related theory, such as macroeconomics, management, technology economics and economic statistics, and so on, to constructing the evaluation index system of enterprise's innovation capability making enterprise's innovation ability as analysis object on the basis of existing related theories and evaluation methods. Finally, the paper chooses Jilin universal machinery Co. ltd. as the case, evaluate and analyze its innovation ability, put forward improvement measures.First of all, the paper simply explains the study background and significance. Enterprise's innovation ability directly relates to the innovative ability of an industry, a region and a country. At present, the domestic scholars' research achievements about innovation ability are mainly concentrated in the macro theoretical level. Objective evaluation on enterprise's innovation ability is helpful to improve enterprise's innovation ability and nation's innovation ability. Therefore, this article puts forward research contents, frame and research methods from the view of enterprise innovation ability.Secondly, this paper introduces the related theories, discusses the innovation theories' development, the concept of enterprise innovation ability, the evaluation index system, enterprise innovation ability' affecting factors and the construction principle of the evaluation index system, providing theoretical support for writing paper.Third, in accordance with the above relevant theoretical analysis and construction principles, this paper scientifically selects certain indicators, establishes the evaluation index system of enterprise innovation capability. The indicators come from the evaluation index system of existing enterprise innovation capability and considered index of the maneuverability and data accessibility. This article constructs evaluation system of enterprise's innovation capability from three aspects of innovation resources input ability, innovation achievements transformation ability and economic support ability. Finally, it introduces several common evaluation methods, chooses the principal component analysis through comparison and analysis. And can use statistics software SPSS to do index data operations.Finally, this paper uses the index system to study the case of Jilin universal machinery Co. ltd, evaluates and analyzes its 2004-2010 innovation ability data, puts forward several suggestions to improve the enterprise's innovation ability according to the analysis results and combined with the enterprise economic development advantage and shortage. I hope it can give some certain references to enterprise's decision.
