Research On MICE Industrial Chain

ABSTRACT:It is known to all people working for tourism that MICE tourism can generate huge economic benefits and catch worldwide attention. This can be well explained by the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing,2010 EXPO in Shanghai and 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou. Moreover, MICE tourism can improve the utilization of city resources and create more jobs. However, the MICE of China's is still in its infancy stage; the two supporting industries-tourism and exhibition industry are not well combined, which constrains the overall development of MICE. It's necessary to reinforce the research on the MICE industry chain, and to expand the linkage between exhibition industry and tourism industry.Main contents and results are as follows:a. By studying the industrial chain theory, as well as the operating model of the exhibition industry and the tourism industry, it constructs a MICE industrial chain structure and discerns the essential quality of MICE industrial chain.b. It builds a research framework of MICE industrial chain with the stakeholder theory, identifies major industries related to MICE, and then evaluates the importance degree of these related industries with PATTERN law, divides the related industries into three echelons according to the importance degree. It provides a theoretical basis for constructing the MICE industrial chain.c. Based on theoretical study, taking Beijing as an example, it analyzes the characteristics and restricting factors of the MICE industrial chain, and puts forward to some methods to optimize the MICE industrial chain of Beijing.
