As a core and hinge of logistics system, automatic warehouse(AS/RS), which has a high interspace usage and great storage capability, can make up a much more effective logistics system, and is the indispensable and important part of many freight hinge and distribution center. This article used computer emulation technique to solve the key problems in warehouse concept phase, which can enhanced the system perceive, optimized system resources configuration and provided great consultation to analyze system operation efficiency.At first, the paper introduced the structures and operation procedure of automatic warehouse, and analyzed the different kinds of factors that have influences to automatic warehouse. Then plate layout and handing technology were assured as the most important problems in warehouse concept phase, and the relationship between these factors was expatiated in details.Secondly, the planning principle and design steps to warehouse were illustrated. Concerned with the key issues in warehouse concept phase, this paper decided to apply the method of system simulation and modeling to emulate warehouse to consummate the design plan.Then, according to the feature of automatic warehouse, the paper used dispersible dynamic incident system theory and objective modeling theory to make a dynamic simulation and completed the mapping from reality to concept.At last, the paper built a simulation model of automatic warehouse system by using the simulation software of Witness. Then the paper analyzed the influences of three shelf size to automatic warehouse combined with some definite handing technology and plate layout plans, in the same working condition. In addition, the best plan was selected according to the data statistics and analysis.Applied with system modeling and simulation techniques, this article did a research to the design of automatic warehouse, which not only abridged the designing time, but also provided consultation to optimize design plan, and improved the designing quality.
