Project schedule management is one of the three important control objectives for any construction project, and is what project management mainly concerns. So far the process of electrical engineering management in China lacks effective schedule control, especially on its organizational information system construction, which falls behind the advanced informatization management in the developed countries. By making use of modern information technology, create storage, processing, analysis, decision making, inquiry, supporting management system or platform with high efficiency, high speed, and finally project schedule management was carried out through computer aided engineering, and setting up the project schedule management system is a inevitable choice for a large power construction progress management.Combined with the electric power transmission and substation construction project, the thesis explicated fundamental theories of project schedule management from the angles of basic concept, plan-making and project implementation. The thesis also discussed the status quo of the project schedule management for electric power transmission and substation, and analyzed different factors that affect each phase of the management schedule. network technique that is often used in construction. electric power company developed network management system of power transmission and substation project with the aid of project management software, and made great progress in engineering and construction. With the aid of WBS model, the thesis decomposed Taishan's electric power transmission and substation project into varieties of scales and levels, and estimated the time consumed by each activity in the project. Thus the complete schedule plans were made. Then the techniques for information system were applied to the project schedule management mentioned above, implementing effective control and management design on the construction project. The application of the realistic engineering project received positive benefits. This research makes beneficial attempt and have achieved some results in the power grid construction engineering scientific and information management.
