Study On Influence Of Education Level On Re-employment Of Urban Unemployed Person

Unemployment is a contemporary global problem. As the most populous developing country in the world, China is confronting the great difficulty of employment, which especially require the government, social, personal individuals jointly united to take positive and effective action so as to deal with the unemployment problems and ease employing pressure. It is specially representative for urban unemployed and laid-off workers to lose and re-gain their jobs in the course of China's economic development. As the group which was most affected by the process of economic transition in China, laid-off workers suffered a lot of difficulties and frustration in re-gaining jobs. Studying in-depth the re-employment behavior of this group and analyzing the main influencing factors will help the government better understand the re-employment situation of the unemployed group, and especially learn more about the vulnerable group. Besides, it will help government to develop and take appropriate measures so as to face the severe employment situation in China at present and in the future.State-owned enterprise of Chongqing is in the critical period of reformation and economic transformation, and with the rapid economic development here, government combined the unemployment of laid-off workers with the unemployment insurance system, which aroused problems that a large number of urban unemployed persons have difficulty in regaining new jobs. We should notice that in the background that the state, market and social relations have greatly changed, individuals have greater choice and the possibility of changing their lives when they face the same social events. Giving the targeted vocational training and re-employment assistance to the urban unemployed person, improving their education level and enhancing their careers ability so as to make them get used to the changes and needs of the labor market, which is the fundamental method that can effectively help them get out of the shadow of unemployment.In this paper, human capital theory was used as a starting point,we investigated the basic situation, unemployment status and re-employment status of the part of the urban unemployed people in Chongqing, and we got an in-depth analysis of relationships among the education level of laid-off worker before and after their unemployment, the status of re-employment and continuous employment. According to the analysis, we've got the following conclusions:Among all the basic elements of the former unemployed, gender and the former enterprise's size played the greatest impacts on re-employment; educational level, training and working skill played the greatest impact on the continuous status of re-employment; improvement of the education level after unemployment is conducive to make the re-employment status remained stable. Finally, we proposed the relevant measures to improve the unemployment status of the urban unemployed person based on the scientific analysis for those unemployed people to seek the position of re-employment.
