With the accelerating process of economic globalization, the idea of economic regionalization is a growing impact on the economic ties between regions or countries. However, some of the contradictions are emerged in this development process, because of the gap and constrains between regions. Especially in China, the regional division of labor has changed dramatically since the reform and opening up. But, at the same time, in order to safeguard interests and expand advantages, most provinces in China are at the fierce competition, resulting in many issues which deviated from the idea of the overall development of regional economy. Thus, we should analyze the interaction between regions with a systematic point of view.Based on the existing research and the relative theories, we firstly summarized the content of the synergic development of regional economies, and the multiple effects of transportation in economic development. Through the discussion of regional economic ties and transport links, we introduced the spatial synergistic network based on inter-district transport, and further explained its established motivation, internal mechanisms and safeguards. Then, we investigated the background and content of Trans-European Transport Network. Besides, by using the concept of coupling, we established a coupled model between the regional economy and interregional transport. Finally, we quantitatively evaluated the coupled level of the EU economy and its transportation, and concluded the main measures with which transport can boost the synergic development of regional economies. It is pointed out that the lack of regional economic ties is one of the main reasons which cause frictions during the economic development. The extravagant local protectionism hinders the horizontal economic ties between regions, which makes it impossible to achieve the free flow and optimized allocation of passengers and goods, and severely constrained the economies of scale within inter-district. The idea of synergic development views the regional economy as a complex dynamic system, considering the regional differences and complementary at one time, in order to form a kind of simultaneous development model of spatial economy. As an important parameter of this forward process, transportation with its regional influence, not only can enhance the synergic effects, but also impact the ordered structure, comprehensive functions and self-organized procedure of the entire economic system. Therefore, the spatial synergistic network is a spatial economic pattern based on the interregional transport layout and links, the object of which is to strengthen regional economic ties as well as promote regional specialization and division of labor. The paper aims to introduce some new ideas about addressing the friction or imbalances in the different areas, promote the steady development of regional economy and inter-district transportation.
