With the continuous accumulation of social material and human capital,disasters,crises,diseases and other issues in China are becoming increasingly prominent.Innovation and improving regional resilience have become effective ways to reduce harm and ensure sustainable development.Therefore,in the face of various impacts and uncertainties,how to adopt the best strategy to minimize losses and quickly recover,as well as adapt to longerterm development,has become an urgent problem that needs to be solved in regional development.Regional innovation and regional resilience complement each other.Regional innovation promotes the improvement of regional resilience level,and regional resilience ensures the continuous output of regional innovation.The two are inseparable.The Yangtze River Economic Belt runs through the three parts of China,including the eastern,central,western,and lower reaches,covering 11 provinces and cities.Each region has different innovation capabilities and resilience levels,and has different development characteristics.Therefore,exploring the synergistic development of innovation capability and regional resilience in the Yangtze River Economic Belt has important theoretical and practical value,and also provides reference experience for the development of innovation capability and resilience in different regions of eastern,central,and western China.This article takes 11 provinces and cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt as the research object.Based on a comprehensive analysis of the synergistic mechanism between regional innovation capability and regional resilience,an evaluation index system is constructed using frequency statistical method.Entropy method,improved coupling coordination scheduling,gray correlation model,and other methods are used to study the coupling and coordinated development level and driving factors of regional innovation capability and regional resilience in the Yangtze River Economic Belt,And based on this,propose countermeasures and suggestions to promote the coordinated development of innovation capacity and regional resilience in the Yangtze River Economic Belt,providing reference for the formulation of relevant policies in various regions.The research content of this article includes:(1)Construct an evaluation index system for regional innovation capability and regional resilience,and use entropy method and comprehensive evaluation model to analyze the current development status of regional innovation capability and regional resilience in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.The results show that the development level of regional resilience is higher than that of regional innovation capability,but the improvement speed of regional innovation capability is faster than that of regional resilience.The innovation environment and ecological resilience are respectively the shortcomings of its development.In addition,compared to the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,the innovation ability and resilience level in the lower reaches are both the highest,and the development level of both shows a decreasing distribution pattern in space from downstream to middle to upstream.(2)Quantitative measurement of the coupling coordination level and spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of regional innovation capability and regional resilience in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.In terms of timing,the coupling and coordination level of innovation capability and resilience in the downstream of the Yangtze River Economic Belt is relatively high,and there is still significant development space in the upstream and middle reaches.From 2008 to 2020,most provinces and cities achieved a positive leap from imbalance to coordination.From a spatial perspective,the coupling and coordination level of regional innovation capability and regional resilience gradually decreases from east to west along the Yangtze River Economic Belt,and the collaborative development stage of innovation capability and resilience varies among different provinces and cities at different time points.(3)Using a grey correlation model to analyze the driving factors of the collaborative development of regional innovation capability and regional resilience in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.Overall,both regional innovation capability and regional resilience are driving factors for promoting the coordinated development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.The upstream innovation capability has a more significant promoting effect,while the downstream resilience has a more prominent promoting effect.In terms of specific factors,increasing the intensity of R&D funding investment,increasing the proportion of local financial science and technology expenditure,increasing internet penetration rate,increasing sewage treatment rate,increasing health technology personnel per thousand people,and per capita road area are significant factors driving the collaborative development of innovation and resilience in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.(4)Based on the analysis of regional innovation capability and regional resilience development level,synergy level,and driving factors in the Yangtze River Economic Belt,relevant targeted countermeasures and suggestions are proposed from three perspectives:regional innovation capability,regional resilience,and regional innovation capability and resilience synergy,providing reference for the collaborative development of regional innovation capability and resilience in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
