Along with the development of economic and social progress, basic public services in urban and rural areas grow government and the community's concern. Satisfaction of basic public services can objectively reflect the local population's satisfaction and the level of social welfare. Nowadays, the demand of basic public services grows rapidly and the supply of them is insufficient. And the non-equalization with basic public services highlight in urban and rural areas. In such background, the discussion of urban and rural residents'satisfaction with basic public services is significant.First, this paper conducts the descriptive analysis of urban and rural residents' supply, demand and satisfaction with basic public services, and then builds statistical models by factor and regression analysis to research the influence factors of the satisfaction. The main findings including:(1)Urban and rural residents are in urgent need of compulsory education, health care and job training. And the need of health care is significant. But the expenditure structure of basic public services is irrational. The financial investment in health care, employment and social security was inadequate.(2)Differences in compulsory education, health care and job training are still obvious between urban and rural areas, especially in the high quality of basic public services. However, need of basic public services are little differences between urban and rural residents. And the need of rural residents is slightly higher than urban residents in compulsory education and health care.(3)Basic public resources are relatively scarce in rural areas, so the corresponding demand for basic public services is larger than urban areas. By increasing the same services supply, the increase of satisfaction of rural residents will be greater than urban residents.(4)Same basic public service'satisfaction has different influence factors between urban and rural residents. Besides, for the same population, the influence factors of satisfaction with different public service are not the same. In the compulsory education and health care services, urban-rural dual structure has an effect on value judgments or subjective feelings, and strengthens the differences in satisfaction evaluation of urban and rural residents with basic public services.
